The problem I find when speaking with Germans at festivals is that they are often more than happy to practice their English and are also better at English than I am at German, which means I am not forced to speak German myself since it is easier for everyone to simply converse in English.

Ah, I understand the situation now, thanks for the input. Indeed I have been trying to learn German on and off for a number of years now, however still do not feel particularly confident enough with it to converse in the forums, that being said I should be reading the German threads for practice.

I'm curious if this English thread will be active leading up to this years RIP? There appear to only be old threads from 2016 and by this time I would have expected to see some posts for 2017. Anyway, I am on my lonesome for this festival and would be keen to perhaps find some people to meet...
